RAUNCHY, rude and occasionally downright crude, Guildford’s Adult Panto is certainly NOT one for the whole family, as Peter Pan and the Loose Boys swoops into the Back Room of the Star Inn from Thursday, November 29 to Saturday, January 5.
Are you looking for your fix of traditional family pantomime? Well, we recommend Guildford’s Yvonne Arnaud Theatre then, as you won’t find it at Guildford Fringe! Based on the story of much loved fairy tale Peter Pan, Guildford Fringe aims to transport you to a Neverland like no other with their flying hero who definitely isn’t ready to grow up.
Peter is looking for a ‘mother’ to look after the Loose Boys back on The Neverland Ranch and, completely by mistake, finds himself staring through the window of the Darling household at Windy (a flatulent version of Wendy) in the shower. So he settles for her for her instead!
Hook is bad, Smee is stupid, The Loose Boys are sexually frustrated, Windy is, well, windy, Peter is heroic and Tink-My-Bell is something to behold… Once again, Guildford Fringe has assembled a spectacular cast to tell their flirty, occasionally dirty fairy-tale.
After her huge success in Robin’s Wood and Jack & his Giant Stalk, Rebecca Withers is ready to let rip (literally) as she returns for fun and frolics as Windy.
Here to lead you on your Neverland journey, and bringing a whole new meaning to The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up, dashing Daniel Umpleby brings you a truly free-spirited, fearlessly mischievous Peter Pan.
Watch out front row: there will be racy retorts, improper dance moves and attempts of audience seduction from Elle Banstead-Salim and Susannah White who can’t wait for a spot of role play as the Loose Boys and Darling Sisters.
Adult Pantoland’s favourite dame is back: Ian Renshaw prepares to get up close and personal to help the good people of Guildford to think happy thoughts, spreading his magical fairy dust as Tink-My-Bell.
Returning for a sixth consecutive year, in gloriously villainous style Hilary Harwood is back with a vengeance, enthusiastically riding the Jolly Rodger as notoriously naughty pirate captain, Hook.
The gags will come thick and fast as Emma Hough brings utter silliness and playful ploys to the proceedings as Hook’s right-hand pirating comrade, Smee.
This ravishing cast will bring love, lust, battles and, of course, flying* to the Back Room of The Star Inn for your pleasure and amusement: to guarantee you’re in on the action all you need now is a ticket!
*Flying is not guaranteed due to budget cuts; please arrive with lots of imagination.
Strictly over 18s and not for the easily offended, this night of shameless humour and blatant innuendo promises to be the one Christmas party you really don’t want to miss.
